Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC, released a study regarding the rate at which high school teenagers drink and drive in the United States.
An initial study performed by the CDC took place in 1991, revealing that 22.3 percent of high school students who were at least 16-years-old reported drinking and driving within 30 days of being surveyed. The same study was conducted again 21 years later, and the results indicated that the amount of teenagers who chose to drink and drive decreased by almost 54 percent.
The CDC said there are several factors that can contribute to this dramatic drop that took place over two decades. These factors can include harsher laws regarding teenagers and driving in general, as well as laws and punishments surrounding drunk driving charges.
